I’m trying to make a fruit fly trap with apple cider vinegar, but all the recipes I’ve found for apple cider vinegar require making it from scratch, from apples and such. Maybe this is a dumb question, but I have powdered apple cider mix at home and white vinegar, so can I just mix the two and get a similar product? I’m pretty sure my apple cider mix doesn’t have alcohol in it, just so you know.

Do the soaking fruits need to be kept in the refrigerature to prevent from spoiling ? I know if soaking in rum/wine, they can be kept out at room temperature since the alcohol preserves the fruit. What about apple cider ? Can the fruits be kept soaking in apple cider for 2 days out at room temperature ? Thanks.

Apple cider fermentation ends up with 5% alcohol while grape wine fermentation ends up with 12%? although both apple and grapes start fermenting with almost 16% sugar?

It’s that time of season where I live that apple cider is everywhere. However I haven’t found the right combination to drink alcohol with it. I used vodka which wasn’t too bad, but it didn’t seem right. Blackberry brandy wasn’t bad either but it kinda took away the cider taste.

So I’m lookin for something that either enhances the cider flavor, or something that you won’t really taste with it, unless it makes it taste better. Got any suggestions?

If apple cider is fermented, it means there is some levels of alcohol then right? What proof/percent alcohol is this? Is apple cider a viable drinking choice? I’m referring to just your average cider, not any fancy "hard" or "sweet" cider, just the normal stuff…

That is one thing I really do miss this time of year. I can get it here but have to pay a lot and order it a ling time in advance.

Nice cold apple cider but not just apple juice. There is a difference. I do not mean hard cider either. Not the alcohol kind.

Real cider has a tang to it and is not too sweet. very refreshing.

I didn’t drink any alcohol tonight at all. But I drank a ton of apple cider and whenever I do I always start feeling slightly buzzed. I’m positive it’s non-alcoholic but is there something else in it or something that gives you that feeling? No other non-alcoholic drink gives me that little buzz except apple cider. It’s not very significant obviously but soda and water and other drinks don’t give me that.
