  • YA Junkie:

I have been taking apple cider vinegar for about 9 months. It competely relieved my gastritis and in 2 months I lost 20 pounds that I had gained from taking a prescription medication. In the first month, I didn’t
lose an ounce, but possibly my metabolism was speeding up. Applied externally, ACV even removed a wart from my leg.

People take ACV in different ways. The most strongly recommended method is to take organic, unfiltered ACV, like Braggs, WholeFoods, Trader Joe’s, or Spectrum Oil. I took one teaspoon of ACV with one tablespoon of honey in eight ounces of water twice a day (sometimes more). Other people dilute ACV in juice, while others drink it straight (yikes).

Taking ACV in pill form is considered by most people to be very inferior to drinking the real thing. Yes, I know how lousy it tastes, but remember the various tips, like juice, to improve the taste.

    My favorite ACV site is:

Braggs unfiltered raw ACV is a good quality brand to use….. you only need around a half inch in the bottom of a glass and topped with water…… **brrrr** icky tasting stuff…. a better way to eliminate acid reflux is to eliminate the foods that precipitate it…….. lactose in milk and dairy products produce almost instant acid reflux in me… even the minimal amount of lactose contained in butter does it for me….. maybe he should ditch the milk and dairy for a few days and see if he feels better……. prolong his life by avoiding the foods he is intolerant to….. if you have a juicer … juice some fresh celery and lemon juice and drink that to realkalise his system….. or just squeeze some fresh lemon juice and drink it straight …….. cheaper, tastier too….. rinse your mouth out thoroughly afterwards to protect the enamel on your teeth….. both will effectively realkalise his system and quit the nasty burn.

  • NRen2k5 the sequel:

    None at all.

Apple cider vinegar is an acid. It won’t help acid reflux. If anything, it could make it worse.

  • William T:

Zero. Apple cider vinegar is acidic and will make acid reflux worse if it has any effect at all. If an acidic liquid helped he could drink coke and achieve the same results because coke has about the same pH. Apple cider vinegar is a fad cure right now, it won’t be long before it’s placed with other silly frauds like shark cartilage for cancer.
